Surgical Removal of Skin Tags

There are several methods of removing skin tags that one could choose from. They all depend on the size and the position of the skin tags as well as the pain an individual is willing to endure.
For example, among the most painless methods is tightly tying a string at the base of the tag and waiting for it to disintegrate after two or so days. However, this is not such an effective method as it will leave part of the stalk still embedded on the skin.

Skin tags are outgrowths on the skin that are due to the trapping of collagen and blood vessels against thin bits of skin. They appear as red or dark protrusions with a stalk and a thicker tip, something that makes them very visible and unpleasant to most people. That is why removing them as effective as possible is always a priority among the people who have them.

When an individual notices that he or she has a growth on any part on the skin, it is highly advisable that he or she seeks immediate medical help by consulting a dermatologist. Skin tags are generally not cancerous, so there is no need for alarm as the only problem would lie in trying to get rid of it.

Apart from freezing the tag to destroy its tissue cells, another alternative would be surgical removal of skin tags. This is a method that is very popular due to the fact that they are one the most effective in terms of completely removing them as well as leaving a small scar.

One does not necessarily need a professional to carry out the surgery. Some types of surgery on skin tags can be easily done at home, but one has to be very careful in their execution. One can, for example, use a blade, knife of a pair of scissors to cut them off. It is a painful process, yes, and that is why one is advised to ensure that the area to cut is numb immediately before starting the procedure.

Electrolysis is another surgical method but this is carried out by professionals only. It entails the use needles that pass an electric current into the tag to completely destroy its cells, leaving very small, hardly noticeable scars.

Surgery is therefore a method that one should seriously consider if he or she is looking to completely and effectively get rid of skin tags.

Remove Skin Tags With String

When you first notice skin tags have developed on your skin it is definitely alarming. You may think that perhaps you are developing a skin condition or some dangerous affliction. Such worries are completely unnecessary because skin tags are completely harmless and are not cancerous at all.

Being harmless does not mean that you can just ignore them. They greatly protrude from the skin can be darker or redder than the surrounding skin making them noticable. This is reason enough for you to go ahead and remove skin tags. Of course you feel self conscious and embarrassed having such obvious growths on your body.

Finding out how to remove skin tags is actually very easy. There are many methods that you can employ. Some of them require a professional dermatologist in order to be carried but only few people settle for these methods. Many people opt for the simplest methods that can be easily be implemented at home. A favorite, especially is to remove skin tags with string.

The main aim of this method is to gradually kill the cells within the skin tags by depriving them oxygen and other essential nutrients that cells require for survival. The string method requires you to obtain a piece of string with a reasonable thickness, preferably with a thickness lesser than the length of your skin tag stalk. If it is very thick, you can reduce this thickness by cutting along its length using a blade.

You should then very tightly tie the string around your skin tag and leave it there for about two days or so. When you are applying it, ensure that it goes all the way round the stalk of the skin tag. Avoid tying many rounds of the string. It should not be thick as this would look awkward. The area that you should ensure is the tightest is at the base of the stalk, just above the healthy skin. Please do not be tempted to loosen it even if it gets uncomfortable. This is because doing this is helps the skin tag regain the nutrients.

Finally, ensure that the skin tag has completely disintegrated before you remove the string after having it on for a couple of days. And remember, this, despite being one of the simplest methods, it is still very effective.

Q&A: Skin Tags under arm and on back?

Nancy asks…

Skin Tags under arm and on back?

Anyone know a remedy for skin tags ? I read somewhere that said liquid band aid- but its so new its not available in the UK yet.
Another source said duct tape as the body reabsorbs the skin tags ?

admin answers:

Well nancy, if you are looking a way to remove skin tags you have come to the right place! Take look at our Skin Tag Removal Kit.

If you visit your doctor he/she will just snip them off or freeze them with liquid nitrogen. I’m not suggesting this for YOU…but its possible to cut off your own skin tags at home with a pair of tiny, very sharp, sterilized scissors. It hurts a little and bleeds for a while, but then it’s gone. The downside is that this method can leave a small scar.

You could also try tying a piece of dental floss around them very tight, they will drop off after a few days.

Whichever method you choose, your problem is that your skin tags are on an area you cannot reach yourself… see if a good friend, partner or family member will help you do it.

Good luck.

Skin Tags On Face

Skin tags on face are a matter of concern especially where appearances are concerned therefore created special attention to them. Skin tags in general are growths that occur on the skin when blood vessels and collagen are trapped within the skin. They are mostly unpleasant and irritating when they appear on the skin but they are non-cancerous growths hence they are harmless.

Skin tags on face are caused by many factors including genetic composition, obesity, diabetes, steroid use and many other factors. Facial skin tags can also appear on new born babies mostly due to genetics composition and friction within the birth canal during birth. Adults’ skin tags are mostly caused by other factors which include steroids, obesity, diabetes and pregnancy.

Skin tags on face require effective removal immediately that is completely removing the skin tags in a way that it does not grow back and also avoiding observable scars on the face. Facial skin tags can be removed by several effective methods which includes simple surgical procedures, cryotherapy, string procedure and using natural extracts to remove skin tags.

Among the most effective method of removing skin tags on face is by a simple surgical procedure that can be initiated at home with the right equipments. All that is needed is a nail clipper or a sterilized scalpel that can easily cut the skin tag. However, this method is not the best suitable for facial skin tag removal especially for light complexioned people as it requires careful removal in order not to leave any unwanted scars on the face.

Cryotherapy is another effective method of removing skin tags on the face. It follows a process of killing cell tissues within the skin tags by freezing them using liquid nitrogen. After the cell tissues are frozen, they slowly start disappearing leaving no skin tags on the face. The process is mostly suitable as it does not leave any observable scars. The disadvantage of the method is that it leaves a possible chance of the skin tag reappearing on the face again.

Skin tags on face can also be removed using a tight string at the base of the skin tag. The tight string method will mostly take its effect after two days or more. One may also use natural extracts like tea tree oil by removing the skin tags on the face by rubbing against the skin tags till they completely fall off.

Q&A: How can I remove a skin tag from my eyelid…?

Donna asks…

How can I remove a skin tag from my eyelid…?

I have a skin tag about the size of a tiny crumb on my upper eyelid. It’s very annoying and sometimes I can feel it between the creases when I close my eyes. Can I remove it at home? What happens if I leave it on my eyelid?

admin answers:

They may come back but you can remove it yourself.  I have removed two myself they havent come back, so far. Or you can find some fine thread. Put it around the skin tag, down as close to the skin as possible. Draw it tight, a few hours later take it off and put another string on there drawing it tighter. Then go to bed, with it on. By morning you should be able to either pick the tag off, or twist it off.
I myself twist them off. Put alcohol on it every day for a few days and it should be fine.

Basically, skin that rubs against skin is the most likely to develop a skin tag. Even if skin tags are considered as tumors, these do not bring any harm to the affected individual. The appearance of these small growths does not even signal that the skin has poor health. Most of the time, skin tags appear on totally healthy skin. Q&A: skin tag dx side effects?

Linda asks…

skin tag dx side effects?

has anyone used skin tag dx? Has anyone had any side effects?
After 2 days of using the product I got a persistent bad cough and congestion. I know the product has a very strong scent and I thought maybe that caused it. I stopped using the product after one week and I am starting to get better. I don’t know if it was just a coincidence, using the product and also getting the cough at the same time. I am afraid to try it again.

admin answers:

You shouldn’t experience any side effects so its more than likely just a coincidence. It’s not that much a different compound than what has been used in wart remover for years. I would suggest you try it again, and if you experience the same side effects again then discontinue use and look for a product containing different ingredients.

Go to your doctor and get them checked out just to be sure what it is you are dealing with. They could very well be genital warts for which you might need medical treatment. If they are indeed skin tags they are harmless but there are many methods you can choose from to remove them.
