Q&A: I have a skin tag on my ear how can I get it removed?

David asks…

I have a skin tag on my ear how can I get it removed?

I’m a 16 year old male and I have a small skin tag by my ear. How do I get this removed? What is the procedure and who do I go to at the hospital to get it checked and removed? I have insurance with the hospital Kaiser Permanente.

thanks – David

If you have had the growth looked at and a doctor has confirmed that it is indeed a skin tag then they should make an appointment for you to have it removed or maybe do it there and then in the surgery. You will have to check if this is covered by your medical insurance as it might fall under the category of “cosmetic” if there is no medical need to remove the skin tag.

Alternatively, we offer a skin tag removal kit you can use yourself at home – compare the prices and choose the method which suits you best.

Good luck
